Marion graduated from Chula Vista High School, Chula Vista, CA class of 1969. After graduation Marion joined the Army and served from 1971-1974. Towards the end of his service, he was stationed at Ft. Riley in Kansas. Wanting to stay close to his family he decided to make Kansas his forever home.
Marion was a welder by trade for over 40 years. He loved river fishing, camping, and any kind of work or tinkering he could do with his hands.
He had a big personality that could often be cantankerous but when he loved he loved hard, even if he could not quite show you.
Marion was preceded in death by both parents, brothers Scott and Eric, sister Amy, sister-in-law Sandra Eustice, and daughter Stephanie.
He is survived by Sister Brenda (David) Meyers of Prattville, AL; Brother Brad (Mary) of Concordia, KS; Sister Becky (Charlie) Wright of Beloit, KS; Brother Michael (Vicky) of Concordia, KS; Brother Douglas of Redlands, CA; Brother Brian (Cynthia) of Junction City, KS; Sons Jeremie (Kylie) of Salina, KS; and Jason of Concordia, KS; Daughters Melissa Crump of Concordia, KS, and Sarah of Salina, KS and 16 beloved grandchildren.
The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Marion's wonderful nurses and caregivers, Mandy, Hannah, Mikayla, Kathy, and Ashley.
Marion's wishes were to be cremated, and a graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2025, St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas with Fr. Joseph Kieffer officiating.
