Marion Hallinan, 95, formerly of Farmington, CT, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Kimberly and Jennifer; her three grandsons, Dustin, Ryan and Kyle; one great-granddaughter, Ruby.
She is preceded in death by her two children, Peter and Philippa, who passed way in 1993 and 2009, respectively.
She was born in London, England. She was a refugee in Canada and the United States during World War II. After the war, she attended the University of London, where she earned BS in Physics and a teaching certificate. Once her four children were in school, she began teaching at Kingswood School in West Hartford, Connecticut, where she worked from 1970 until her retirement in 2000. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling extensively throughout Europe and the Caribbean.
Her friends and family describe her as being a lovely and graceful woman, kind, generous, and thoughtful.
A private celebration of her life is being held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in Charlottesville.
