Marion H. Harmon passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, in Parksley, Virginia, at the honorable age of 88. Born on June 19, 1937, in Atlantic, Virginia, he was the son of the late George and Ruby Harmon, and spent his life as a devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Educated in Accomack County Public Schools, Marion carried the virtues of his upbringing throughout his life. He valiantly served his country as a Marksman Specialist in the United States Army, embodying the courage and dedication that would come to define him. Following his service, he transitioned to civilian life as a Custodial Technician, a role he performed with diligence and pride.
Marion was a steadfast member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Atlantic, Virginia, where his faith nurtured him throughout his lifetime. Music filled his home, with the strains of country music of-ten in the background, and his favorite hymn "Because He Lives" had a special place in his heart.
A man of simple pleasures, Marion's interests brought joy to those around him. He was particularly known for making the best fried cabbage that brought everyone together at family gatherings. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, he would be found cheering on his team come game day, a testament to his unwavering loyalty.
Family was the cornerstone of Marion's world. He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Elouise F. Harmon; son, Calvin A. Tull, Jr.; parents, George and Ruby Harmon; brothers, James E. Harmon, Sr. and Noah "Bub" Harmon; and sisters, Gertrude Wilson, Mildred Harmon, Catherine Wilson, and Lillie White.
His presence will be profoundly missed, but his memory and the example he set will forever inspire and guide his loved ones. His legacy continues through his daughter, Marquetta H. Reaves (Caston); son, Marcus Davis; grandchildren, MaKayla Reaves, Caston Reaves, II, Makiyah Davis, Maleyah Davis, Maziryah Davis, and Ezekiel Davis; sisters-in-law, Althea Goodwine and Jewel Burgess (Michael); and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
