Marion White Johnson, a cherished soul known for his friendly demeanor and humorous spirit, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born on July 29, 1944, to the late Clinton White Johnson and Allena Smith Johnson of Robersonville, NC. Marion's life was a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Marion attended Robersonville High School before his sense of duty and patriotism led him to serve his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, an experience that instilled in him a profound sense of discipline and honor. After his service, Marion returned to his roots in Martin County, where he would live with the love of his life, Brenda Weaver Johnson. Together, they shared 61 years of unwavering love and companionship until her passing.
In his professional life, Marion was known as a dedicated truck driver for around 40 years, a job that allowed him to explore the open roads, spend quality time with his wife Brenda, and find solace in the beauty of the country once served. His free time was often spent in the company of his beloved westerns, where he could immerse himself in tales of valor and adventure.
Marion's legacy is lovingly carried on by his brother, Clayton Johnson of Robersonville, NC, and girlfriend, Angie Taylor of New Bern, NC. Marion was a guiding light to his son, Jeffrey White Johnson, and daughter-in-law Cheryl of Jamesville, NC, as well as to his daughter, Cathy Johnson Smith, and son-in-law Mike of Cape Coral, FL. Marion's joy was multiplied by his grandchildren, Chris Johnson and wife Holly of Jamesville, NC, Andrew Johnson and fiancée Cheyanne Moore of Williamston, NC, Holley Hall and husband Dalton of Asheboro, NC, and Tyler Roberson of Jamesville, NC. His numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive him, each carrying a piece of his kind-hearted and jovial nature.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Weaver Johnson, his parents, Clinton and Allena Johnson, and his brother, Steve Johnson.
Marion White Johnson's life was one of simple pleasures, hearty laughter, and unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. His presence was a source of comfort and happiness to those around him, and his memory will be a beacon of light for generations to come. As we bid farewell to a man who was not only a cherished family member but also a steadfast friend, we are comforted by the thought that his legacy will live on in the hearts and stories of those who loved him. Marion's life was a journey well-traveled, and his final sunset is one that he faces with the same courage and dignity with which he lived every day.
