Marion Moncada Obituary
Mario Moncada, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away October 18, 2025.
The son of Frank and Eustolia Moncada, Mario grew up in Big Spring, Texas. He was born on June 5, 1952 and attended Big Spring High School.
At the age of 19, Mario enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1971. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal among many other Vietnam campaign and service medals. He was honorably discharged in 1977.
Mario is survived by his four children, Terri, Amanda, Frank, and Heath and his five grandchildren, Mercedes, Cameron, Calli, Luke, and Ella. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerrie. Family and friends will remember his love for his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, and attending Lake Leon Baptist Church.
A service honoring his life will be held at 2:00 pm on October 25, 2025, at Lake Leon Baptist Church in Eastland, TX with family receiving visitors just prior to the service at 1:00 pm.
Burial with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on October 27, 2025 at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.
A viewing prior to both services will be held Friday, October 24th, from 9-5 at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland, Texas.
The family invites friends to celebrate Mario's life with flowers or a gift to St Jude or Toys for Tots.
