The McDougald Funeral Home - AndersonMarion Moore Obituary
Born June 15, 1938, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Cecil Lee Moore and Ruby Mae Crawford Moore. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Atkins Moore; and six siblings.
Marion was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving from 1956 until 1979 when he retired. His military career took him into battle during the Vietnam War. Following his military career, he began work at Michelin as a maintenance supervisor where he remained until he retired. He also enjoyed being a cattle farmer and raising cows on his farm.
He is survived by his children, Steve M. Moore and Carol J. Shiflet; and grandson, Austin T. Moore.
A committal with military honors will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 10:00 am at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vets Helping Vets, P.O. Box 265, Anderson, SC 29622.
