Marion L. (Donalovich) Onofrey, 83, of Clarks Summit, PA, died peacefully Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at her daughter Judy's home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of 66 years to the late John J. Onofrey, who died November 20, 2023.
Born December 26, 1940 in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Amelia Rafalko Donalovich. Marion was a graduate of St. Ann's Catholic High School, Scranton, and later worked as a production control analyst for Trane Company in Dunmore, PA, for 20 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit, and volunteered for their Lazarus program.
She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, gardening and took great pride in flying the American flag. She enjoyed traveling with her family to Long Beach Island, out West to visit her son and many bus trips to New York City. She once traveled to Germany and toured all of Europe with her daughter, Judy. She enjoyed canning and preserving, baking many types of Christmas cookies and was an avid Tom Selleck fan. Her greatest joy was being a mother and devoting herself to her children.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to her private nurse, Anita, for her extraordinary compassionate care to Marion over the past years.
She is survived by two sons: John Onofrey and wife, Michelle and Kenneth Onofrey; three daughters: Lynn Klemick and husband, Gib, Judith Gillette and husband, David and Amy Wojcik and husband, Walter; two grandsons: John Thomas Onofrey and wife, Kacie and Zane Onofrey; one great granddaughter: Kohyn; one sister: Dorothy Kunda and husband, Mike; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son: David Onofrey.
