He was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Dean is survived by life long partner of 48 years, Gary Harper of Fairview, NC.
Dean was a professional hair stylist and worked 30 years in the profession in Greenville, SC and owned his own shop in Asheville at Backstage Hair Designs.
He loved his dog, Toby, and Toby will miss him.

My heart is broken since your passing. The tears keep flowing and the heart ache is so hard to bear. I know you are in Heaven, with your Mother, family and all your friends who passed before you. I will never stop loving you and will be with you when God calls me home and we will be together again. Thanks for all your love and happiness the last 48 years. Love you dearly, Dean –
A private Memorial will be announced later for friends and family.
Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
