Marion E. Tomfohrde, 95, of Rochester passed away on December 19, 2024.
Marion was born on June 22, 1929 in Pine Island, MN to Lucile and Ada Kundert. She attended Pine Island Public School.
In May of 1948, Marion married Alfred Jensen in Kankakee, IL. They divorced in October of 1950. She moved back to Pine Island and worked in Rochester until October 1952, when she married Ora Tomfohrde and farmed in Zumbro Falls, MN until 1965. Then they bought the grocery store in Zumbrota, MN. In 1972, the couple moved to Kasson, MN and she worked at the Byron Bank until 1979. In 1980, they moved to Oronoco, MN, then to Rochester. Marion then worked at Queens Fashions in Rochester for 4 ½ years, until she retired to spend time with her grandchildren.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Ora, in 1982, her daughter, Shawn, grandson, Jerome and granddaughter, Tara.
Marion is survived by her children, Wayne (Carol) Jensen of Vancouver, WA, Connie (Alan) Jensen of Mesa, AZ, Steven, and special friend April, of Mondovi, WI, Joan DePoppe of Rochester, MN and Daniel of Rochester, MN, 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, and her sister Juanita Robinson.
She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Rochester.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN with visitation from 10am until the time of the service. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, 38 7th Ave NE, Rochester, MN.
