I last talked with Marissa in the fall when we met at the grocery store. We reminisced about our teaching experiences at Sanborn. She was always enthusiastic, energetic and kind...and well liked by the students. My prayers are with her family at this difficult time.

Dear Marisa's parents and family. I requested a Mass said for Marisa at St. Michael's, Exeter NH on PENTECOST Sunday, June 4th at the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Marisa would be sooooo pleased. We went to St. Marie's in Manchester together in 2015 for the vigil. I miss her so much, and pray for her often. I have the Mass card, but don't have your address to mail the card. I can be reached at 603-502-2757 or [email protected]

Marisa, my beautiful friend...thank you for all of your love and support, the laughter, the tears, for going out to breakfast with Mary Beth and me after Sat. morning Mass, for being my annulment mentor, and encouraging me to find the same deep healing that you did. Thank you for ministering to me, praying with me, and for just being my friend. I choose to remember you dancing with the Holy Spirit at this year's Pentecost Vigil, with a red scarf high above your head, as you twirled around in ecstasy. You had the biggest smile on your face, and I was as happy to see you as you were to see me. Although that dance was only about 10 minutes or so, I will forever remember you like that, until we dance together again in Heaven.
Love you my sister in Christ! Your Mass was beautiful and Father brought so much love and mercy into it. Know that I will always be praying for your family, especially your children. Christina van Kalken

" I was quite sad to hear the news of of the passing of Marisa. I worked with special education and she was right there every step of the way to make sure the students were getting the same attention and respect as every other student in her class. She will be deeply missed.

So sad to hear of her passing. I had her for a 7th grade teacher and will never forget how much of an impact she made on my learning, education, and life. She would always make things fun and interesting to learn. Watching episodes of the magic school bus to help keep us interested in the lesson. She was so considerate and cared about her students more than anything. Always having a smile and laughing. Rest In Peace.

So sad to learn about the passing of Marissa. She was such a delight to be around. I Remember the first time I met her - immediately I thought of Sherry O'Terri from Saturday night live with her fun persona and great sense of humour. I told her that when I got to know her and she said that many people say that. I had a few encouraging conversations with her one on one with regards to my daughter and her health and education. She was so caring and inspiring - and reached out graciously to us. She was also a wonderful teacher that my daughter enjoyed so very much.
We will never forget her - taken way too young. We are blessed to have known her and been a part of her life. Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to her family and friends. So very sorry for your untimely loss. Love, Talia & Bella Walley ❤

So sad to hear of Marisa's passing. She was always friendly and helpful to me. As a colleague, we shared a love for science and teaching. My favorite memory was attending a conference with her in Boston. She got to the venue 2 hours early and saved us seats in the front row to see/hear Bill Nye the Science Guy. Rest In Peace. Sorry you're gone.
