Maritza Diaz Obituary
Maritza was born November 28, 1953 in Valencia, Venezuela, the daughter of the late Evelio Mejias and the late Carmen Diaz. She taught high school and college in Venezuela prior to retiring. She enjoyed singing, dancing and cooking. Maritza was a Christian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Pedro Manuel Mejias and Freddy Ivan Mejias.
Maritza is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jose G. Barrios of Villa Rica, children, Juan Manuel Ruiz of Valencia, Venezuela, Cristian Manuel Ruiz of San Antonio, Florida, Mariana Ruiz of Villa Rica, siblings, Jose Luis Mejias, Luis Javier Mejias, Bertha F. Mejias, Carmen Elena Mejias, Yeny Betsabe Mejias, Leily Mariela Mejias all of Valencia, Venezuela, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at J. Collins Funeral Home.
Memorial Service will be conducted Monday, March 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of J. Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Gibbs officiating.
