Marjorie A. Byrum, 89, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday afternoon, September 29, 2025, at Pine Haven Christian Home where she had been residing.
Born March 2, 1936, in Sheboygan, Marjorie was a daughter of the late Wilbert and Evelyn (Hierseman) Byrum. She attended Kohler schools and graduated from Kohler High School in 1954.
Marjorie worked in accounting and computer operations for the Sheboygan Paper Box Company for 28 years before her retirement in 1995. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Marge was a lifelong member of Bowling Associations and Leagues, where she won many trophies and awards, including the Sheboygan County Championship and the State Lutheran Championships. She also played for a local softball team and was involved in helping to bring the National Slow-pitch Softball Tournament to Sheboygan. Marge was selected to act as treasurer for that tournament. In later years, she enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Riverdale Women's 18 Hole Golf Leaguers. She also participated in the NEWGAL (Northeastern Wisconsin Golf Association for Ladies) league play for a number of years.
Marge is survived by her close, longtime friend, Karen Ferstl, Sheboygan, nieces and nephews, several cousins, and many long-term friends.
Besides her parents, Wilbert and Evelyn, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Byrum Sand.
A memorial service for Marjorie will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 11:30 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 2104 Geele Avenue, Sheboygan. Pastor Kristin Berglund will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Inurnment will take place in Woodland Cemetery in Kohler.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Pine Haven and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all their loving care and support.
