Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Service - SheboyganTeresa Lee “Dutchie” Sellinger, 76, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, on August 16, 2025. She was born November 24, 1948, in Sioux Falls, SD to the late Loren “Dutch” Robert and Audrey Jeanne (Anderson) Thornton. Terry “Dutchie” graduated from Sheboygan North High School with the Class of 1967. She went on to attend the University of Colorado, Boulder from 1967 to 1969, then transferred to the University of Wisconsin Madison to complete her nursing degree, graduating in 1971.
On December 27, 1971, she was united in marriage to David Scott Sellinger in Sheboygan. Together they raised three children: Jennifer Sellinger-Gotzmer of Sheboygan, Steven (Elise) Sellinger of Wauwatosa, and Zachary Sellinger of Northbrook, IL.
Terry was a registered nurse at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan until her retirement. She was active with the Sheboygan Service Club and the PEO. Terry enjoyed golfing, tennis and playing cards, and was a member of the Quit Qui Oc Women’s Golf League, a Tennis League, and was a member of a Bridge group and Mahjong group.
Terry “Dutchie” was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother, friend and sister. Her family and friends were her world. Always smiling, always kind, she was loved by all. She was a master shopper, collecting teapots everywhere she went. Terry’s decorating skills were second to none. Her home and table settings were always gorgeous and welcoming. She cherished time spent traveling with family and friends; Hilton Head Island and Elkhart Lake were her happy places. A beautiful soul, she has now joined family and friends who have gone before. She is missed more than words can say. We love you, Dutchie!
Terry is further survived by her eight grandchildren: Gwyneth (Evan) Thuemmler of Vista, CA, Greyson and Griffin Gotzmer of Sheboygan, Audrey and Connor Sellinger of Wauwatosa, and Brynn, Hudson and Dylan Sellinger of Northbrook, IL, her sisters Peggy Tolle-Hutt of Tampa, FL and Sally Thornton-McComis of Grafton, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
