Marjorie Ann Chase, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at Riverside Cottages in St. Augustine, Florida, on September 1, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on July 24, 1940, in Easley, South Carolina, Marjorie grew up in Anderson, South Carolina. She was a graduate of TL Hanna High School where she was a majorette and a gifted student . Marjorie attended Limestone College before graduating with a double major in Mathematics and Physics from Furman University. It was there that she met the love of her life, Rogers Chase. United in marriage on June 24, 1962, they embarked on a journey filled with love and adventure, beginning their married life in Memphis, Tennessee, as Rogers attended pharmacy school. Following their time in Memphis, they settled in Knoxville, Tennessee, where Marjorie embraced her role as a devoted homemaker, nurturing and raising their two children, Lisa and Tony. In the early 1970s, the family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, where Marjorie answered her calling as an educator, inspiring countless students as a Physics teacher. Years later, they moved to Longwood, Florida, before making their final home in St. Augustine. Throughout her life, Marjorie was a woman of deep faith, proudly serving as a charter member of First Baptist Church of Sweetwater, where she shared her love of music as a cherished member of the choir. Marjorie's family was her pride and joy, and she reveled in the role of grandmother to Parker and Peyton Chase. Even in her later years, she remained active and committed to her well-being, enjoying fitness and an array of activities that allowed her to cherish every moment of life. Marjorie's warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Rogers Chase; daughter, Lisa Chase and her husband David Duncan; a son, Tony Chase and his wife Nell; grandsons, Parker and Peyton Chase; and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Marjorie Ann Chase, a treasured soul, will reside in our memories and hearts, forever illuminating our lives with her love and laughter. She will be deeply missed. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
