Silvia Maria O'Mahony, 69, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at 7:05 p.m. in Saint Augustine, Florida. Born on January 6, 1956, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Silvia was the daughter of the late Rodolfo Arenas and Teresa Routurou. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry, and is survived by her siblings Teresa, Fernanda, and Rodolfo. Silvia's greatest joy and pride were her children - Danielle, Patrick, Cristine, and Paul- whom she lovingly raised. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jacob and Ava; along with many other friends and family she held close to her heart. Silvia built a career in the airline industry, a profession that allowed her to do what she loved most: travel the world and share those experiences with her children. She embodied strength and independence, raising her family with unwavering dedication, always placing their needs before her own. Her selflessness, strong moral compass, and work ethic defined her life. Silvia's kindness touched countless lives, and her unique spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Above all, she was a devoted mother whose love knew no bounds. Silvia lived the life she pleased - an independent woman known to do things on her own terms. After a lifetime of chaotic beauty, her final moments were peaceful and surrounded by love. Silvia and her loved ones shared the unique gift of enjoying her last days together, doing the things she loved most. In recent months she enjoyed meals with good company, sipping mate, charlando, and playing chin-chon. In her final weeks she hosted a tremendo asado, danced to her favorite songs, cheered for an AFA win, and most importantly, spent precious time with those she loved. Silvia always had a clear vision for her life and the determination to see it through. She passed just as she lived - on her own terms. She did it her way. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Funeral Home and Crematory, 385 State Road 207, Saint Augustine, FL 32084.
