Eric McCall, 51, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on November 5, 2025. He was born on July 24, 1974, in Jacksonville to the late Olean Johnson and William C. McCall III.
Eric was known by all who loved him as an incredibly reliable, hardworking man whose loyalty to his friends and family had no limits. He loved working alongside those he cared about and was the first to show up whenever someone needed help. He never turned down a request, never hesitated to give his time, and embodied a spirit of generosity that made him truly irreplaceable. He was loved beyond measure.
Eric was a member of The Narrow Way's Christ for All Nations Church, under the leadership of Pastor Hosanna David. His faith was an important part of his life and a steady guide in how he treated others-with compassion, humility, and an open heart.
He had many passions. Eric loved working out and was an avid reader. A devoted rock music aficionado, he could talk for hours about his favorite bands. He spent much of his free time rescuing animals and helping anyone he could. His selflessness knew no bounds; he consistently went out of his way to support people who could never repay him. Being involved in the lives of his family and friends was his greatest joy.
Eric is survived by his children, Gabriel and Amahna McCall; his stepmother, Doris V. McCall; his brothers Ronald McCall, Elton D. McCall, and William "Chad" McCall IV; and a loving host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his grandparents, Georgia McCall Sanchez and William McCall II.
Eric's "family by choice" held a very special place in his heart: his two adoptive mothers, Cynthia Knoche and Jan Hollis; his adoptive sister, Callie Wood; his best friends and adoptive brothers, Brandon Knoche, Chad Wood, Yogesh Patel, Erik Ojala, and Damon Weed; and his nephews, Dane, Lije, and Nash Wood.
Eric lived a life defined by love, service, and quiet strength. His gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and boundless generosity will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
