Barbara McCall

Barbara Holbrooks McCall, 78, of Macon County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Macon County, Barbara was the daughter of the late James Wade and Bonnie Stanley Holbrooks. She remained a proud lifelong resident of the community she cherished. Barbara was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 54 years, Leroy McCall, and her brothers, Larry Holbrooks and Billy Joe Holbrooks.
Barbara was a woman of quiet strength and gentle spirit. A member of Burningtown Baptist Church, she found joy in life's simple pleasures-feeding her birds, tending to her flowers and garden, and spending time outdoors. She loved making campfires, shopping for treasures, and indulging her sweet tooth with candy. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and laughter.
She is survived by her children, Tabitha St. John and James Travis McCall; grandchildren Taylor Lee (Carrie), Angelina McCall (Kyle), and Erica Tastinger; and great-grandchildren Cameron Highsmith (Maria), Kailey Bauldrick, Kurt Tastinger, Charlie Millsaps, and Oliver Millsaps. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Martha Vinson (Dwight) and Lullabelle Russell (Earl); cherished family friend Daniel Dowdy and Terena, her beloved daughter-in-law, along with her husband, Wade Dodd.
Barbara's warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held at this time.
