Marjorie S. Ferris

Marjorie S. Ferris, of Downingtown, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Simpson Meadows with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late E. Bryant Ferris, Jr., who passed away in June of 2024.

Born in Downingtown, PA on December 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Peter J. Short, Jr. and Mary (Merkt) Short. Marjorie graduated from Scott High School in Coatesville with the class of 1960. She went on to attend business college at Goldey-Beacom, graduating in 1962. She met her husband Bryant when she worked in the office of Beloit in Downingtown, and they went on to have three children. She also worked at Carol's Hallmark in Lionville, and Boscov's department store in Exton. From the time they were young, Marjorie loved being involved in her kid's lives, and she dedicated her life to her children. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Downingtown for over 70 years, and she was an avid Phillies fan.

Surviving are her children Bryant James Ferris, husband of Elizabeth, of Gordonville, PA, Eileen Montgomery, wife of Jay, of Coatesville, PA, Mark Joseph Ferris, husband of Christina, of Bloomingdale, FL; grandchildren Marissa Ferris (Wilbert Rodriguez), Jenna Ferris, Rick Vukovic (Raychel), Dustin Herr (Jessica), Dylan Montgomery, Mark Ferris, Jr., and Emily Ferris; great grandchildren Rhys and Reid Vukovic and Grace and Charlie Herr; and her brother Richard J. Short of York, PA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 332 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Visitation will be from 9:45 – 10:45 am prior to mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
