Obituary of Marjorie J. Kucel
Marjorie J. Kucel, age 86, of Gloversville, passed away Tuesday morning, May 30, 2023 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville.
She was born September 12, 1936 in Gloversville, the daughter of Louis and Margaret (Hogan) Krieg. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School and was later employed by Johnstown Knit, Crescent Leather and Robison & Smith.
She loved being outdoors whether she was gardening, camping and canoeing with her family, or just watching "her" birds at her many feeders. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crafting. She was an avid photographer and created many albums and scrapbooks over the years.
Marjorie was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit.
Survivors include a son, John S. Kucel Jr. (Cindy Forman). In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of nearly 62 years, John S. Kucel Sr; and a brother, Louis Krieg.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 pm Monday, June 5th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main St; Gloversville, with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel officiating.
Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd; Gloversville, NY 12078 or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
