Marjorie R. McClanahan,89, of Green Springs, died at her home surrounded by her loving family. on Friday, August 30, 2024.
Marjorie was born in Sandusky, OH on July 20, 1935, to the late Margaret (Ritchie) and Robert Hintz.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Clyde. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, gardening, sewing, watching game shows and reading her Bible. Marjorie was a homemaker and had also worked for Whirlpool, her church and Green Springs IGA.
In September 1956, she married Elmer McClanahan, and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2019. Their five daughters, Connie McClanahan of Clyde; Kathryn Standifer of Clyde, Karen (Tim) Coots of Republic; Carolyn McClanahan of Green Springs and Loretta Konard of Green Springs survive. Her son/grandson whom she raised, Daniel "Charlie" McClanahan; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her husband and parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Stalnaker and siblings, Donald Hintz, Doris Noftz, Evelyn Baker, LaVaughan Glover, Anita Anderson and Robert Hintz, Jr.
Visitation will be 11:30am, Tuesday, September 3, 2024 until time of Funeral Service at First United Methodist Church, Clyde. Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the church or Heartland Hospice.
