Shirley Runion, 89, of Clyde, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025 at Bellevue Hospital. Shirley was born on March 21, 1936, in Creekmore, Kentucky, to the late Coy and Dora Brown.
Shirley was a dedicated homemaker who cherished taking care of her family and her home. She was an active member of the former Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, reflecting her strong religious faith. As the Bible reminds us, "Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!" (Psalm 105:2). Her hobbies and interests were rooted in her love for her family, as she took great joy in her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband, Benny Runion of Clyde, her children, Rick (Janie) Runion, Ron Runion, and Don (Doris) Runion, Sherri Beddow all of Clyde, Ohio; her grandchildren, Damon (Angie) Runion, Jessica (Kyle) Aona, Darrell (Tonya) Dinan, and Tara (Chad) Beaudoin; great grandchildren, Grace, Luke, Brinley, Maelyn, Autumn (Peter), Wyatt; siblings, Wilma, Marcia, Jan and Dave. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jo and brother, Phil.
A graveside service in honor of Shirley will be at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde, Ohio will be on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
