Mrs. Marjorie Nell Matthews Morris of South Boston, VA, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on June 4, 1932, in Mecklenburg County, VA, to the late William Ollie Matthews and the late Jettie Bowen Matthews. She was married to the late William Edward Morris.
Mrs. Morris was a member of Seven Oaks Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, her church, and her church family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her passions was playing the piano and organ. She also enjoyed cooking, attending family functions, and going out to eat with her family. She retired from J.P. Stevens after 48 years of dedicated service.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, December 11, 2025, from 6:00–7:30 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Walter Yancey and Rev. Chuck Barton officiating. Burial will follow at Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends other times at 1023 Foster Lane South Boston, VA 24592.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
