Marjorie Alice Owen died peacefully in her home on May 5, 2013 surrounded by love. Marjorie was born in Berwyn, Illinois on December 28, 1920. She had a wonderful life growing up with her brother and three beloved sisters. On December 22, 1943, Marjorie married the love of her life, Donald Owen and together they shared 60 years of wedded bliss. Marjorie and Donald had four children David (Connie), Barbara, Susan (Bill), Michael (Kate) and eight loving grandchildren and five terrific great grandchildren. Marjorie and Donald loved to spend their free time traveling the world with many of their fabulous friends. Marjorie loved gardening, playing bridge and playing a weekly golf game in her younger years. Marge was a member of PEO and the Palos Verdes Woman's Club. She enjoyed her friendships and participation in both those organizations throughout the years. Marjorie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and laughter. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013, 1:00 pm at the Palos Verdes Country Club, 3301 Via Campesina, Palos Verdes Estates, CA 90274. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Torrance Memorial Hospice Foundation, 3330 Lomita Blvd., Torrance, CA 90505 or a favorite charity of your choice.
