Marjorie Grace Wingo Tate, was called to her eternal home on November 20, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on April 26, 1929, in New Albany, Mississippi, Marjorie was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life. Marjorie was the cherished daughter of the late Claude Dougles and Effie Staton Wingo. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Leo Tate, and her dear son, Thomas Eugene Tate. Her legacy continues through her devoted daughter, Betty Williams (Rickey), and her sons, Bobby Joe Tate (Diane), and John Arthur Tate (Nancy). Marjorie was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Roger Tate, Angie Rainer (Bob), Kelly McClain (Chris), Joanna Cook (David), Amy Sanders (Jason), and Andrea Parrish (Korey). Her joy was multiplied with the addition of eight great-grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to her later years. Professionally, Marjorie was a dedicated secretary, serving with grace and efficiency. Her career included valued positions at the New Albany Cheese Factory, Van Atkins, and H&G Fabrics. Marjorie's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a devout member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she found great solace and community. Her love for her Lord was unwavering, and she expressed her devotion through her involvement with the Gideon Auxiliary, where she supported the spread of God's word. A talented seamstress, Marjorie loved to sew, a passion she pursued with great skill and joy. Her creations were not just garments but expressions of her love and thoughtfulness. Marjorie's family was her pride and joy, and she adored every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her presence at family gatherings was a source of warmth and comfort. Services to honor her life will be on Sunday, November 23 at 3:00pm with a visitation from 1:00 until the start of the service all at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery.
