Marjorie Kennedy Todd

Marjorie Kennedy Todd, 91, of Cornelius, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025. She was born in Sanford, NC on August 14, 1934, the daughter of the late Walter Advaster Kennedy and Bertie Elizabeth Kennedy. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Marvin C. Todd; and her sister, Betty Crowson. Marjorie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jan Todd Freshwater and Bill of Mooresville, Libby Ann Christian and Jim of Terrell; grandchildren, Ross (Amberlee), Whitney (John), Harrison (Megan), Zach, Grant, Abigail (Hunter); great grandchildren, Liam, Alex, Jaxson, Adalyn, Charlotte, Harper, Graham, Brooks, Madelyn, Kennedy, and Hayes. Marjorie loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. Once her husband passed away, her friends became her family, they mutually ensured they were always cared for and supported. Marjorie never met a stranger and would go out of her way to help anyone that needed it. She loved to cook and was an avid gardener who could grow anything. Marjorie also enjoyed visiting the beach and traveling with her church friends and friends from college. She would take her family to Gatlinburg, Tennessee every year because that is where she and Marvin spent their honeymoon together. Although she was a huge Duke fan Marjorie graduated from the North Carolina College for Women in Greensboro, currently UNCG. Above all, Marjorie loved her family and her church. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, 2:00 PM, at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, Charlotte. The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the family life center. The family has requested that you wear happy colors in memory of Marjorie's vibrant and happy spirit.
