Marjorie Ann Toepfer (Margi), age 62, of
Storm Lake, Iowa passed away on May 18, 2025, at home, surrounded by friends and family.
Celebration of Life service will take place Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. A time of gathering will follow from 2:30-4:00 p.m. all at the funeral home. Burial will take place Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Margi was born on October 3, 1962, to Anne Maxwell and Warren Turner in Washington D.C. She was baptized in 1969 at Infant of Prague Church and confirmed in 1976 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove. She went to grade school in California and North Carolina and eventually moved to Ida Grove where she graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1981. She went on to Iowa Lakes Community College to study art.
In March of 1985 Margi married Myron Stanley, and during that union they were blessed with a daughter, Natalie. They were married for 10 years. In 1995 Margi started dating her husband David Toepfer "Super Dave" of
Storm Lake, IA. They married July 12, 2003, and stayed happily married until Dave's passing on September 6th, 2023.
Margi was a CNA for the majority of her adult career. Her years spent at BV Manor were the years she treasured most. She loved and adored her residents and her coworkers. She eventually became an activity director. She enjoyed playing volleyball, hosting special events, and doing crafts with the residents. After the closing of BV Manor, she went on to the hospital and was an activity director at Hope Harbor, until the beginning of 2025 she was no longer capable of working due to illness.
Margi enjoyed spending time with her husband Dave, her daughter & grandchildren, & her family and friends. She made sure to always get the most "unique" and meaningful gifts and always did an annual scavenger hunt at Christmas time where everyone had a different set of clues and eventually found twenty dollars. Margi was extremely talented. She made lots of cakes for graduations and birthdays throughout the years and painted many pictures. She loved to make people laugh and told the "best" jokes. She also enjoyed gardening, laying out in the sun, and playing with her dogs Buddy and Sammy.
Margi is survived by her daughter Natalie (David) Redecop of Gruver, TX; three granddaughters Kylee (Conner) of Guymon, OK, Taylor & Londyn, her brothers Bob (Judy) of Chicago IL, Kenny, Scot (Dalonni) of Independence, IA, Mike of Northwood, IA, along with Connie, Rob (Emily), sister Rebecca of Norway, her father Warren (Marcy) of Columbia, Maryland; Nieces and Nephews Ryan (Melissa), Marissa (Brian), Katie (Jeremy), Ashlie (Brandon), Cole (Alina), Caysen, Reese, Avery, several great nieces and nephews, dear friends; Tina & Monty, Jean, Mary Jo of 40+ years, Dan Konradi and family of 30+ years, soon to come great granddaughter Emberly Ann, and many other extended family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Anne Maxwell & beloved husband David Toepfer, as well as many BV Manor residents & co workers considered as her second family throughout the years.
