Mark Andersen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bradley Funeral Home & Crematory - Antigo on Jan. 28, 2025.
Mark Andersen, a man who loved deeply and lived fully, passed away at his home in Antigo, WI on January 25, 2025, at the age of 74.
Born on September 23, 1950, in Kenosha, WI, Mark was the beloved son of Elmer and Edna (Thomsen) Andersen. In 1999, he married the love of his life, Janell Perrault, at the Kenosha Courthouse, and together they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and love.
Mark attended Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha. Not long after, he answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the Marine Corps and bravely serving as a Pointman in the Vietnam War. His courage and sacrifice were recognized when he was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in combat. He remained a dedicated member of the Somers American Legion, honoring his brothers in service throughout his life.
To his nieces, nephews, and stepchildren, Mark wasn't just family--he was their favorite. He was the kind of man who would take you hunting, fishing, or swimming and make every moment feel like an adventure. Mark had a deep love for Westerns and never outgrew his passion for horseback riding, a cherished piece of his youth. He had a special attachment to his bright yellow '67 Corvette, often taking it for drives along Lake Michigan and through the winding roads near Petrifying Springs Park, where he found peace and joy.
More than anything, Mark had a giving heart. He was always the first to offer help, the first to lend a hand, and the first to make sure you knew you were cared for.
Mark leaves behind his devoted wife, Janell; his loving sisters, Barbara (Otto) Foss Tierberger of Lyles, TN, and Linda Esposito of Elcho, WI; his brother, Larry (Kathie) Andersen of Pleasant Prairie, WI; his stepchildren, Evette Rowley of Kenosha and Ryan Perrault of Kenosha; his cherished step-grandchildren, Taylor Rowley, Calie Perrault, and Esme Perrault: and sister-in-law Roberta Andersen. He also leaves behind a legacy of love with his many nieces and nephews.
He is now reunited with those who passed before him--his parents, Elmer and Edna; his brothers, Gilbert and Dennis Andersen; his sister, Neta Bishop; his brother-in-law, Bill Esposito and his sister-in-law, Janet Andersen.
Mark's life will be celebrated privately at a later date, in the way he would have wanted--surrounded by those who loved him, sharing stories, laughter, and a few drinks in his honor.
