Mark Anderson Obituary

Anderson, Mark of Hillsboro, Missouri, was born April 2, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri to Cletis and Bonnie (nee Tate) Anderson and entered into rest Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in Chesterfield, Missouri at the age of 64 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, to Cletis and Bonnie (nee Tate) Anderson; and sisters, Phyllis Bowen and Theresa Mercer
He is survived by his wife, Rose (nee Mercer) Anderson; his children, Amanda (Tony) Vaughn, Jenny (Jacob) Petty, David (Nicole) Anderson; grandchildren, Jake, Kailyn / River, Dean / Eva-Marie, Ender, Finley; siblings, Robert Bowen, Calvin Anderson, Mary Christine Hamilton, Charles (Linda) Mercer; his bonus daughter/niece, Dawn (Damon) Buchanan; along with numerous other extended family and friends.
Mark Anderson was a devoted family man whose greatest joy in life was his wife, children, and grandchildren. His family was his world, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for them. Mark had a heart that was as big as his laugh and a spirit that could light up any room. He was the kind of man who showed his love through action-whether it was lending a helping hand, fixing what was broken, or making sure everyone around him was cared for.
Mark had a deep love for the outdoors and was happiest when surrounded by nature. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and hunting, and he loved sharing those experiences with his family. For a time, he served as a Boy Scout troop leader, teaching young scouts the values of hard work, respect, and adventure. He found peace under the open sky and joy in simple moments-like sitting around a campfire or taking in the beauty of the wilderness.
A talented craftsman, Mark could do just about anything with his hands. He had a true gift for woodworking and took great pride in creating and fixing things. Whether he was building a project in his workshop or helping one of his kids with car troubles, Mark approached everything he did with determination, skill, and love. He was the family mechanic, the go-to problem solver, and the one everyone could depend on to make things right.
Mark was a man who loved and lived for the 1970s-the music, the memories, and the way of life. He had a soft spot for old Westerns and could often be found relaxing in his favorite chair, watching classic films from days gone by. Known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, Mark could make anyone laugh and always had the perfect one-liner ready.
Above all, Mark will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and the love he poured into every aspect of his life. He was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose impact will be felt forever by those lucky enough to know him. His legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of his family and all who loved him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary.
