Mark Ray Baker, 61, of Pernell, Oklahoma, passed away on September 9, 2025. He was born on July 21, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to his mother, Thelma (Brown) Morgan. Mark grew up in Pernell and attended school there. In 1992, he was united in marriage to Sherry Baker in Maysville, Oklahoma. Their marriage was filled with laughter and love until her passing. Mark worked hard throughout his life in many trades. He was a truck driver who hauled fish, spent time in the oilfield, ran a bait and tackle shop in Galveston, Texas, and did construction work as well. No matter the job, he carried a strong work ethic and a love for working with his hands. In his free time, Mark enjoyed the simple pleasures of life-fishing, painting, carving, riding horses, and spending time outdoors in the woods. He had a soft spot for animals and a creative spirit that came through in his hobbies. He also loved a good meal, especially carrot cake, pecan pie, fried chicken with mashed potatoes, red beans with fried potatoes and cornbread, and chicken and dumplings. Above all, Mark cherished his family and the time he shared with them. He believed in helping others and lived by the lesson he often shared: "You have to trust people, and you're supposed to help others when you can." He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. Mark's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and love for the people around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Mark is survived by his Son, Justin Baker and wife Jamie; Stepdaughters, Jessica Orms, Erica Fleet; Brothers, Johnny Walker and wife Alisha, David Walker; Eight Grandchildren; and Little Sister, Glenda Bustamante; and Cousin Clara Downey. Mark was preceded in death by his Mother, Thelma (Brown) Morgan; Wife, Sherry Baker; and Cousin, Donnie Downey Services for Mark are pending with the family. Cremation services were under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. If you would like to send condolences to the family, you may do so at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
