Mark Bonomo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. on Dec. 30, 2025.
Mark Allen Bonomo, age 67, of Corning, NY, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Mark was born in Corning on September 8, 1958, to Edward Bonomo and June Bonomo (Payne), and he was the brother to Edward "Skip" Bonomo, all of whom predeceased him.

Mark grew up in Painted Post, NY, where he developed a lifelong passion for cars-especially Mustangs-and motorcycles. Over the years, Mark owned several mustangs and bikes, including Hondas, Vulcans, a VTX 1800, and a Harley Fat Bob.

He was known for his many watches, his quick wit, and infectious sense of humor, which kept everyone around him laughing and brought joy to all who knew him.

Mark's artistic talent was remarkable. His penmanship and drawings were truly amazing. Those who knew him believed he missed his true calling as a graphic designer.

Mark had a heart for cats. From his first, Kaiana, to his last, Maxine, all brought him great entertainment and companionship throughout his life.

Mark worked in various retail positions during his lifetime, including Fay's Drug, Chemung Electronics, Sears, and AT&T. No matter where he worked, Mark's ability to connect with people stood out. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel at ease. Wherever he worked, he took pride in truly learning about the products he sold.

Mark will be remembered for his creativity, laughter, and his genuine kindness. He leaves behind a legacy of friendship and unforgettable stories.

In accordance with Mark's wishes, there will be no formal service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, where friends and family can gather to share memories and honor his spirit. Mark will be laid to rest with his family in Fairview Cemetery in Painted Post, NY.

Mark's family has entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. www.haugheyfuneralhome.com
