Mark Nartei Botchway, 64, of 3176 Harvard Street, Woodbridge, Virginia passed away after a battle with cancer.
Mark was born on April 22, 1957, in Accra, Ghana. Mark loved to cook and became a chef to the United States Consul in Ghana and Nigeria. Mark was such an excellent chef that the Consul brought him to the United States when he completed his tour of duty and was returning to the United States. Mark worked as a chef for the State Department, the Holiday Inn, and Marriott Hotels. He spent almost 2 decades working for Marriott Hotels until Covid19 and ill-health ended his employment with the Marriott.
In 1996, Mark met his wife Mildred at the apartment complex they were both staying at. They dated for 4 years and were married for 24 years. They were blessed with 2 children, Yasmine and Mark Jr. He also had an older daughter Angela, 30 who was born and lives in Ghana.
Mark loved to cook and spent most of his time in the kitchen creating dishes or watching soccer. His dream was to retire and move back to Ghana and enjoy his sunset years but alas, that was not to be. Although he fought hard, he lost his battle with cancer on March 17, 2022. He is now at rest in the bosom of the Lord.
Mark leaves behind his wife and children in the United States and a family that love him dearly back in Ghana.
Mark, you fought the good fight of faith. We thank God that you received Christ as your Lord and personal Savior. Rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord until we meet again.
Rest in peace Mark Nartei Botchway
