The Botchway/Dickson/Mills/Allotey/Magnusen and Ablorh families announce the call to glory of their beloved Susannah Botchway, 89, of Marlboro, who passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold.
Born in Accra, Ghana on September 6, 1934, she immigrated to the United States in 1991. She has since lived on and off between the United States and Ghana helping raise her grandkids.
Prior to retiring in 1980, she worked as a cocoa broker with the Cocoa Marketing Company in Ghana.
Susannah was a devout Christian who enjoyed fellowship and singing Christian songs. She was the family matriarch who enjoyed counseling all her nephews and nieces and any members of her church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gershon Adom Botchway, in 2008.
Surviving her are her four children, Emmanuel Botchway and his spouse, Stella, Winfred Botchway and his spouse, Tirzah, Samuel Botchway, and Mandy Johnson and her spouse, Ben; eight grandchildren Perry Botchway, Brian Botchway, Adrian Botchway, Ursula Botchway, Shawn Botchway, Chanelle Johnson, Cyril Johnson, Zoey Amerley Botchway, and two great-grandchildren Affina and Dante Botchway.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 9:00 to 10:00 am, at Waitt Funeral Home, 501 Highway 79, Morganville. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am and interment will follow directly after at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery. Repast will follow after interment at Lake Chateau Banquets, 1002 US 9 North, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
