Mark Alan Boyce died on September 28, 2023 in Eugene, Oregon. Mark was born on November 6, 1960, in Del Rapids, South Dakota to Kenneth and Carolyn Boyce, joining his older brother, Mike.
In 1961, the family moved to Roseburg and finally settled in Oakridge in 1964. Dad, Ken, started Postal Pharmacy and mom, Carolyn, began her teaching career at Willamette Elementary.
Mark attended Willamette Elementary, West Ridge Junior High, and graduated from Oakridge High School in 1978. Mark ran long distance on the track team and played football. As a 7th grader, he broke the 1.5 mile record for Oakridge.
Upon graduation, Mark attended Oregon State for two years, playing trumpet for the marching band and the basketball band. He enlisted in the Army from 1984-1987. Upon his return from the Army, he moved to Klamath Falls where he attended O.I.T and obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering. He then moved to Eugene where he worked for Monaco Coach for several years.
Mark was an avid golfer until illness forced him to stop. Sadly, his addiction to alcohol was not something he could overcome eventually leading to his death.
Mark was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Carolyn Boyce. He is survived by his brother Mike Boyce (Brenda) of Keizer, his niece, Emily, of Keizer, his aunt, Cheri Johnson, of Arlington, Texas, his uncle, Jim Nawroth (Eileen) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, his friend, Annie Kaeo of Veneta, as well as many cousins and friends.
Mark's family would like to thank the staff of Riverbend Hospital, Hillside Heights, and Sacred Heart Hospice for their compassionate care during Mark's illness.
A memorial will be held on November 4, 2023 at 11:00 at Oakridge United Methodist Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or to a charity of choice.

To Mike and Family,

My deepest sympathies. I´m sure this has been a very trying time for you and I want you to know I am thinking of you.

I began my junior year of high school by starting work for Postal Pharmacy and quickly found myself attracted to the handsome younger son of the owner... Mark. He became my high school sweetheart. I enjoyed watching him play basketball and having him walk me to class. He was my prom date and escort for Tree Planting. We spent lots of time hanging out and listening to The Cars & Cheap Trick, and the general shenanigans of youth.

Mark and I didn't have a fairytale ending, but I look back on those times with much fondness and affection.

I also want to express my sadness over the loss of his mother Carolyn. I appreciated her kindness, and especially the sweet card she sent after the loss of my dad.
