Mark Bruce Boyes, 64, passed away at home on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Born in Cranston, he was the oldest son of the late Bruce and Ruth Esther (Campbell).
Mark was a dedicated nurse and phlebotomist at Miriam Hospital, working for Lifespan Health for over 22 years. He had a giving heart and big smile that lit up the room. Mark was down to earth, and generous towards all those who had the fortune of knowing him. He had a passion for creative writing and advocating for human rights.
Mark had a deep love for the city of Providence, and a great interest in its history and architecture. Following his retirement from nursing in 2023, he fulfilled his dream of living in a downtown apartment on the top floor of the G Reserve Building. He greatly enjoyed the TV show "Dark Shadows," which piqued his interest in architecture. Mark was also a dedicated Providence Bruins fan, and attended many games with friends.
He was the uncle of Nichole Boyes and Kiela-Jo Boyes, great-uncle to many nieces and nephews, and cousin to many. He was the brother of the late Kyle and Kelly Boyes. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, coworkers, and patients.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday, June 22, 2025 in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, RI. The Rhode Island Nurse Honor Guard Tribute will be performed at 5:30pm, with memory sharing to follow.
