Mark Branyon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grimes Funeral Chapels - Kerrville on Dec. 1, 2025.
Mark Wilson Branyon was born March 14, 1961, in Greenville, Alabama, to Perry Daniel Branyon and Peggy Marie Lancaster Branyon. He stepped into the presence of his Savior on November 26, 2025, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. He grew up in Montgomery and Mobile, Alabama; New Orleans and Alexandria, Louisiana; and Alief (Houston), Texas. Mark graduated from Texas Tech University in 1985 with a degree in Marketing. He then began a career in sales and marketing with several companies, residing in Houston, San Antonio, and Kerrville, Texas; and Phoenix, Arizona.

From a young age, Mark was passionate about whatever he was interested in at the moment. He was into cars and music as a teenager, being a trendsetter with an autoreverse cassette deck when everyone else was installing 8-track players! His love of music was a lifelong passion and he attended many concerts and cherished his visits to New Orleans for Jazzfest. He also loved deer hunting and firearms. He later got very interested in cooking and loved to cook extravagant dishes. Combining his love of travel and food, he enjoyed road trips around the area including trips hitting the hot barbecue spots around the hill country and south-central Texas. Mark also immersed himself in James Avery culture and products in his last career stop. In his later years, Mark's faith in Jesus grew deeper and was a strong foundation from which to endure the health challenges he faced with an energy and boldness that demonstrated his beliefs and love for his Lord.

Mark was preceded in death by his father Perry Branyon. He leaves behind his son Kyle Tengler and wife Windy; mother, Peggy Branyon; his sisters Tenza Flowers and her husband Jim, and Julie Kelton and her husband John; brothers David Branyon and his wife Pam, and Paul Bain and his wife Michele. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who were dear to his heart.

Visitation will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Sunrise Baptist Church in Kerrville, Texas, followed by the funeral at 11:30 am, and a graveside service at Garden of Memories in Kerrville, Texas.
