Mark Brizendine Obituary
Mark A. Brizendine died peacefully at home with his son Adam by his side on Tuesday, July 9th in Greenfield, Indiana at the age of 63 after a long battle with COPD.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vanessa; children Adam, Ashley, Chris, and Heidi; sisters Marcie (Rick) Davis, Leah Greenwalt, Jill (Greg) Reeves, brother Mike Morrison, sister-in-law Rae Anne (Tony) Adams, 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Jane Brizendine, and his brother, Steve Brizendine.
Mark was born on March 19th, 1961 in Anderson, IN. He graduated from Greenfield Central High-School in 1979 and went on to receive his Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering from ITT Technical Institute. He married the love of his life, Vanessa, in 2005. Together, they loved to fish, camp, travel, cook out, host pool parties, and spend time with their friends and family.
His children will remember him as a funny, hard-working, no-nonsense guy who lit up around his grandkids.
Mark was passionate about gardening, grilling, cooking, and collecting guns. He often indulged in woodworking and watching his favorite crime drama, NCIS. He was a dedicated man who retired after a long, successful career in quality control for automotive manufacturers. Mark was a devout member of Bethel Baptist Church and the NRA.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 13th at Bethel Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with services immediately following. Pastor David Mora and Pastor Joe Wood will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mark's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made during the service to the Brizendine family to help cover expenses, or by Venmo @Ashley-Brizendine. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Paradigm Health for their help during Mark's last days.
