Mark Alan Cosma (Mr. Cosma, Mr. C, Coach), age 65, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023.
He was born on May 14, 1958 to Nick and Jean Cosma.
He graduated from West Branch High School in 1977. Mark pursued a career in education as an Intervention Specialist, but he would say that he was more of a motivator. He instilled life skills and lessons into all he taught or coached and always included his love for competition in all he did. Mark kept in touch with many of his students and enjoyed celebrating their successes.
In his grandchildren’s eyes, Papa could do no wrong. They would have Jeep safaris in the backyard looking for wild animals. Papa would play dress up, basketball, football, video games (not very well). He made any time with them exciting.
Mark was an amazing father. He equipped his children, Abby and Jon, with the tools they needed to be good parents, kind people, and most importantly followers of Jesus.
Mark married his high school sweetheart, Susan Hallman Cosma. They would have celebrated their 43rd anniversary on December 19th. They were partners in everything and best friends. They loved each other dearly.
Mark is survived by his wife Sue; children, Abby (Josh) and Jon (Teddi); his grandchildren, Olivia, Zeke, Zeb, Mason, Maggie, Belle, and Maci; his brother, Tim (Debbie) Cosma; sisters, Debbie and Peggy; and many extended family members.
Mark was grateful for everyday and loved his family and the time they had.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Damascus Friends Church on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
