Mark William Covert, 64, of Clyde Township, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025, at McLaren Port Huron Hospital.
He was born June 15, 1960, in Mount Clemens, the son of Robert and Lorraine (Turner) Covert.
Mark married Judith Higgins April 2, 1982, in Richmond.
Mark was a 1978 graduate of Richmond High School. He worked for Globe Enterprises, New Baltimore, as a machine repairman and retired in 2023. Mark was an outdoors man and enjoyed fishing, hunting and trap shooting. He enjoyed watching and going to Nascar races. Mark was an avid lover of the Detroit Redwings and Lions.
Surviving in addition to his wife Judy of 43 years, are a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Jessica Covert of Capac; eight grandchildren, Evelynn Rose, Brooklynn, William, Lilly, Dakota, Clayton, Trenton and Alexia; a brother, Nile Covert; his father-in-law, Eddie Higgins, two sisters-in-law, Jean and Carol-ann; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jaclynn A. Covert-Hildebrant; grandson, Nickolus (a.k.a Licorice); two sisters, Diane and Roxanne; brother, Wayne; mother-in-law, Janet Higgins; brother-in-law, David; and nephew, Adam.
The family honors the memory of Mark and invites you to visit and share memories Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Pastor Jim Smith of Columbus Bible Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memphis Cemetery, Memphis.
Memorials are suggested to "Wishes of the Family".
