Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford
Mark Elliott Edwards, 65, of Oxford, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at St. Domonic's Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 03, 2025, from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church at 403 University Avenue, Oxford, Mississippi 38655. The funeral service celebrating his life will occur immediately following the visitation, beginning at 11:00 A.M. in the church sanctuary.
Mark graced this world with his presence on October 28, 1959, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, as one of the two sons born to Lavada Gillis Edwards and the late Roy Wayne Edwards.
Mark was also deeply proud of his Catholic faith. It shaped his values, guided his actions, and offered him strength throughout his life's journey. His trust in God was unwavering and ever-present, a cornerstone of the man he was. An avid crappie fisherman, Mark found peace and pleasure on the water, where patience met passion. His time spent fishing wasn't just a hobby-it was a way for him to connect with the world around him in a quiet, meaningful way. He approached life with an infectious happiness and a humorous spirit that could light up any room. Whether he was sharing a laugh or lending a hand, Mark brought joy and comfort to those fortunate enough to know him. Mark cherished his children Trevor and Casey, and grandson Jaime above all else, and his love for them was the most genuine reflection of his heart.
Mark will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing in his beautiful life.
Mark leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence: his beloved wife, Rebecca Alice Edwards of Oxford, Mississippi; one son, Trevor Edwards and his wife Kayla of Oxford, Mississippi; one daughter, Casey Pano and her husband Glendin of Southaven, Mississippi; one grandson, Jaime Edwards of Oxford, Mississippi; and a host of extended family friends that he dearly loved.
The loved ones who departed from this life before him include his father, Roy Wayne Edwards, and his brother, Gary Edwards.
In place of traditional flowers, the family has requested donations be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital using the following link (https://tinyurl.com/546dtcfx)
