Mark Fenley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harman-Rohde Funeral Home - Troy on Mar. 12, 2026.
Mark Steven Fenley, 67, of Troy, Kansas passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 10, 2026 surrounded by his wife and children.

Mark was born on July 31st, 1958, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Archie and Lillian (Wiskowski) Fenley. He was a lifelong resident of Troy, Kansas. He graduated Troy High School in 1976. After high school he attended Kansas State University and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity where he took on the role of house manager his senior year. A highlight of his time at KSU was escorting Willy the Wildcat for the homecoming parade in his 1966 corvette. He graduated with a Bachelors in Agricultural Economics in 1980.

He met and married the love of his life, who he commonly referred to as his lovely bride, Marillyn (Clark) on April 9th, 1988. She survives of the home. They established their homestead and raised their four children there. In 2015, they branched out and took a dip in the lake life by buying and later building a lakefront oasis at Big Lake, Missouri. The house was not only a quiet retreat but also a social gathering spot for family and friends. Mark made sure the music was playing his deep tracks, the meat smoker was always in use, and the boat had a full tank of gas. His favorite line at the lake was, "If the boat sinks, just stand up."

Mark was a lifelong member of St. Charles Catholic Church. His greatest joys in life were his wife, children, grandchildren, as well as attending coffee club every morning and working on his farm. He loved taking road trips with his wife and close friends on their Harley Davidson, spending weekends at the lake, getting his weekly 'fix' of his grandkids, doing his best to keep up with his kids' lives, and sipping on a bourbon on the rocks. He will be remembered for his quick wit, honesty, and love for his family and his farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Fenley.

He leaves behind his wife, Marillyn, his four children Kacie Fenley, Garrett Fenley, Paige Knudson (Michael), and Bryan Salisbury (Megan); grandchildren Danica and Lincoln Salisbury, Fenley and Archie Knudson, Cylence Cranfield (Jake) and Emma Gould, sister, Geri Lynn Parscale and his nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 17th, 2026 at 10:30am at St. Charles Catholic Church in Troy, KS. Graveside service will follow at St. Charles Catholic cemetery. Rosary service will be held at 5:00pm Monday, March 16th, 2026 with visitation to follow until 8:00 P.M. at Harman-Rohde Funeral home in Troy, KS. Friends may call after 9:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Doniphan County Pet Rescue.
