Linda was born on March 16, 1949, at Yocom Hospital in Chariton, Iowa, to Ed and Florence Halferty. She graduated from Chariton High School in 1967. That same year, in December, she married the love of her life, Keith Fenley, after a lucky meeting-he offered her a ride in the rain as she was leaving the beauty shop, and the rest was history.
Linda worked at Garten Supervalu in Chariton and later as a secretary for Des Moines Asphalt and Southern Iowa Oil. While she worked hard in her professional life, her proudest achievement was raising her two sons, Rob and Steve, whom she loved deeply.
Known for her happy-go-lucky personality, Linda had a gift for conversation and cherished time spent chatting with friends. She enjoyed playing pitch and never missed an opportunity to share a laugh. She also shared Keith's love for the outdoors, joining him on coyote and deer hunts.
Linda was a kind and caring person who found joy in simple moments and loved her family fiercely. Her warmth, humor, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Keith; her sons, Steve Fenley and Robert (Jodi) Fenley; granddaughters, Skyler Fenley and Hayley (Blake) Paige; great grandchildren: Everleigh, Bennett, and Eli; sister, Judy Osborn; brother, Pat (Sandy) Halferty; and sister in-laws, Elaine Halferty and Marilyn Woodcock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher; brother, Jim Halferty; sister, Betty Remster; and brothers in-law, Mike Osborn and Bob Woodcock.
