Services for Gary Rowley, 80, of Knoxville, will be Monday, October 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Knoxville. Following the service there will be a visitation at the funeral home until 1:00 p.m. and then a celebration of life at the American Legion in Knoxville.
Memorials may be made in care of Gary's family, or to the Marion County Humane Society.
Gary Wayne Rowley was born January 22, 1945, the youngest son of Irvin and Anna (Van Cleave) Rowley. He was raised on the farm near Knoxville, attending country school and then Knoxville High School graduating in 1963. While in school, he loved to play basketball and football, and was crowned Homecoming King his senior year.
Gary worked for the Allis-Chalmers dealers in Knoxville for many years and retired from Hormel. He also operated the American Legion for several years starting around 2006. He enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs. Gary will be remembered for his selfless acts and always putting others before himself.
Gary passed away October 8, 2025, at the Knoxville Hospital. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Kenny McKay; parents: Irvin and Anna Rowley; and siblings: Dean Rowley, Myrle (Betty) Rowley, Darlene (John) Scott, Louise (Melvin) Dennison, and Larry (RoseAnn) Rowley.
Gary will be greatly missed by his wife, Suzanne; children: Lisa (Steve) Modlin, and Dennis (Kim) Rowley; grandchildren: Staci (Taylor) Fjelland, Chelsey (Josh) Jenkins, Louden Rowley, and Ally (TJ) Flesher; many great grandchildren; Suzanne's four children and their families; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
