On September 12, 1967, Brad was born to Wayne and Dorothy Dixson in Newton, IA. He grew up in Chariton and graduated from CHS in 1986. He later studied at Indian Hills and started working at Hy-Vee. Brad also worked at PSF Hog Farms and as a union laborer before returning to Hy-Vee, where he built a long career of 25 years!
On June 6, 1992, Brad married the love of his life, Nicole. Brad and Nicole started dating her senior year. They were high school sweethearts who shared an amazing 33 years of marriage together. Family was the center of Brad's life, and he especially enjoyed time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Brad also had a passion for the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, off-roading, shooting, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also enjoyed trips to the casino, giving his daughter in-law crap, and spending time with his dogs- especially his grand-dog, Buster. One of Brad's fondest memories was spending time with Bret while Bret drove him around. Brad and CJ would always watch the ISU and Hawkeyes play together, but they were rivals! When Brad had spare time, he loved pulling out his DVD collection. He enjoyed movies, but especially old westerns. Brad will be remembered for his generous spirit, big heart, and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Brad passed away September 4th at the Lucas County Health Center, at the age of 57. He was preceded in death by his parents: Wayne & Dorothy Dixson; and brother, Ken Dixson.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Nicole Dixson; sons: Bret and CJ (Stephanie); grandchildren: Jordan, Rainer, Skyla, Lakelyn, and Riverleigh; sister-in-law, Carla Dixson; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
