Geneva Carole Wilson was born January 10, 1935 to Thomas Theodore and Hulda Melosine (Bote) White in their rural Knoxville, Iowa home. The family moved south of Newbern in Lucas County in 1945. Geneva went home with her Lord and Savior on October 18, 2025.
Geneva graduated from Chariton High School in 1953. She married Clarence LeRoy Wilson June 19, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Melcher, Iowa. Clarence preceded her in death January 7, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and other close relatives.
Geneva and Clarence were lifelong members of First Lutheran Church, and she taught Sunday school, and was a leader of the FLC Breakfast Gals for several years. She was a longtime 4-H member and leader (a long family tradition), and was a member of Better Homes Club (a neighborhood club her mother was instrumental in starting), as well as a member of the Chariton Woman's Club. She served for several years on the Southgate Apartments Housing Board and volunteered frequently at the Chariton Senior Center. She had an active social life, served her community well, and frequently donated to local improvement projects.
Geneva leaves a significant legacy, and is survived by her children LuAnn (Tom) Mosbach of Chariton, IA, Suellen (Troy) LaZella of Bondurant, IA, and Mark (DeAnn) Wilson of Ankeny, IA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Abbie (Alee) LaZella, Austin (Kelsey) LaZella, and Cole LaZella, Ben (Mackenzie) Mosbach, Jake, and Mike Mosbach, and Mickensee (Patrick) O'Brien, and Marcus (Presley) Wilson; and 11 great-grandchildren: Kailor and Brexen LaZella, Huxtyn and Gibson LaZella, Finn, Logan, Hattie, and Emma Mosbach, Caiden LaZella, Walker O'Brien, and Holden Wilson; her sister Helen (Jim) Snodgrass; and a host of other loving relatives and special friends.
A visitation will be held at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton, Wednesday, October 22nd from 4:00 - 6:00pm.
Funeral services will be held at First Lutheran Church, Thursday, October 23rd at 10:30am. Interment will be at the Chariton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or the Lucas Coun ty Health Center.
