Mark Ferro

Mark Edward Ferro, age 71, passed away Monday, March 4. 2024 at River City Nursing Home.
He was born on May 4, 1952 in Escanaba, Michigan, the son of Sydney Edward and Lucy Janet (Konyndyk) Meeter and was later adopted by his step father, Larry Ferro. Mark was a graduate of Winston Churchill High School.
Mark had a passion for building things and was very independent. This made construction a perfect fit for him. He enjoyed being his own boss and honing his skills in many areas of construction. Mark was a dedicated member of the Concord Church Builders Team, a volunteer group of specialists constructing new churches.
Mark loved the outdoors. Whether he was fishing, maintaining his garden or caring for his chickens and ducks, he loved to be outside. As an attendee of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, he was a strong Christian and strived to live a life reflective of his faith in God.
Survivors include: his children, Mark Paludan and Christine Thornton both of Mesa, Arizona; siblings, Randy (Debbie), Kevin, Frank, and Jason Ferro; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Seth, and Nathan Thornton; and his good friend Wally, who joined him on countless fishing excursions.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Kris Ferro.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held at a later date.
