Mark Cody Goins, 35, of Cleveland, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2026. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Vols. Cody had a true love for baseball from the time he could walk. He played baseball, basketball, and football. He also had a big heart for every animal he came across. He loved listening to music and spending time with his family and friends. Cody had the biggest heart and would help anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Quinton and Joyce Goins, and a special friend, Harold Sullivan. His great-grandparents include Eva Cantrell, Willie and Edna Brackett, and Charles and Myrtle Hackney. Cody is survived by his parents, Mark (Tonya) Goins and Donna Goins; his grandparents, Bobby and Sandra Hackney; and his uncles, Steve and John Hackney. He is also survived by his cherished sisters, Kelsea and Jenifer (Dylan) Goins; his brother and best friend, Brandon Goins; and his special cousin, Blake Hackney. He was loved and cherished and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life service will be held on January 17, 2026, at the "Ridge Chapel" of Companion Funeral Home Cleveland located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., and the service will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Guinn Green.
