Mark Anthony Gutierrez, 44, of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday October 21, 2025. He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on April 5, 1981 to Trinidad & Lupe (Cruz) Lovato. Mark was a many of many favorites, he loved to watch football especially his Dallas Cowboys or His Red Raiders. He was a family man, Mark raised his kids up and even took in some extra kids, but they were considered his own. He took pride in being a father, always working hard to be a provider for them. In his time off, he loved to cook out and have his family all get together. With family and friends around, Mark was always trying to make everyone laugh and smile. He was the jokester of the crowd anywhere he went; he had a special light around him. Amongst the jokes, Mark was also the DJ of a lot of these get togethers. He had a major love for all genres of music, from Buddy Holly to George Stait, to Tupac, etc. Mark even wrote some of his own lyrics and put it to some music himself, he always enjoyed showing others the music he made as well. Although life was not always easy on him, he was strong and made it through everything he faced. He was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Adam, Gabriel, Sariya, and Aiyana, and Arianna Gutierrez; mother, Lupe Lovato; brothers, Jason Lovato, Elmer Gallegos, Adam Lovato, Sammy Lovato, George Lovato, Robert Gonzalez; sisters, Melissa Arballo Lovato, Cindy Tijerina, and Marisol Gonzalez; and several extended family members and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his dad, Trinidad Lovato, Sr.; brothers, Trine (Lovato) Gutierrez, Joey Gutierrez, Johnny Lovato, Trinidad Lovato; sister, Kathy Torres, Sylvia Lovato, and Jackie Odeguera.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. ~ 1:00 p.m. with Celebration of Life Services beginning at 1:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow immediately at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
