Mark E. Hasz, 84, Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord January 27, 2026 at Traditions At Reagan Park, Avon, IN. Born June 8, 1941 to Vera (Osterman) and Gerhard Hasz.
Upon being received into Christ at Holy Baptism July 1, 1941, Mark grew in the knowledge of the Lord attending Calvary Lutheran School, making public confirmation of his baptismal faith on April 3, 1955 leading to lifelong fellowship with the beloved brothers and sisters at Calvary Lutheran Church. Throughout his years at Calvary, Mark was sustained on God's Word in worship, with the Saturday morning Men's Bible study group, sang the joys of Jesus in the Adult Choir, served on the Board of Trustees and joined Calvary's El Salvadore Missionites.
After his education at Calvary Lutheran School and Southport High School, Mark spent 4 years in active duty in the Army stationed in Germany. After returning to Indianapolis, Mark married Mary Catherine (Jones) and began family life becoming a proud father to two sons, Clay and Marty. He continued serving the US armed forces through the Army Reserves and advancing his aircraft mechanic career in the Indiana National Guard. He then began working at Allison-Rolls Royce until retirement.
Mark enjoyed using the breadth of his mechanical skills doing small engine repair for friends, neighbors and church members. He loved visiting with others & traveling with his family. He enjoyed time in God's creation, off-road motorcycle riding and camping & hiking with family and church friends.
Mark is survived by his two sons, Clay (Gina) Hasz of Speedway, Rev. Martin (Dru) Hasz of Cape Girardeau, MO, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, sisters, Anne (late Ron) Keller and Carmen (Tony) Costello. He is proceeded in death by his wife Mary, his parents, Gerhard & Vera Hasz and sister Karen (Wade) Boyd.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit and the Gospel, his family received the benefits of his faith in Christ as he served as a lifelong faithful witness through the love of God in Christ, through which we are eternally grateful and blessed. To God be the Glory.
Visitation will be 3:30-5 pm on Friday, January, 30, 2026 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 6111 Shelby St., with the service immediately following at 5 pm.
