Mark Alan Hudspath, 75, of Ellwood City, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on October 2, 2025. His earthly address changed to Heaven, where he is now fully healed and rejoicing in eternal life. Born on June 16, 1950 in Lorain, Ohio, Mark was the son of the late William M. Hudspath and Lillian T. Appollino Hudspath.

On June 22, 1973, he married the love of his life, Betty Bernd, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Together they raised two beloved daughters, Tina (Chad) Hamon and Jeri (Chris) Beale, who were his greatest joy.

Mark’s life was a testimony of faith, humility, and devotion. For many years, he was active in the Missionary Alliance Church, where he faithfully served and could often be heard singing gospel hymns with unmatched joy and passion. His deep love for the Lord overflowed into his daily life-he prayed for others often, shared encouragement freely, and found great purpose in serving those around him. One of his favorite hymns, “Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me,” reflected not only the song of his heart but the way he lived his life.

He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969 and devoted 35 years of service to the Borough of Ellwood City, retiring as manager in Building Maintenance. Known for his strong work ethic and steady presence, he took great pride in his work and was respected by his colleagues and community alike.

He will be remembered as a selfless father, brother, and uncle and friend who adored his family. Mark’s gentle spirit, steady faith, and unwavering love left an imprint on every life he touched.

He grew up surrounded by the love and energy of his eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife Betty; daughters Tina and Jeri; siblings William (Carol) Hudspath Jr., Tim (Teri) Hudspath of Tidioute, PA, Gail Vendetti and Ernest Hudspath of Ellwood City, Holly (Mark) Sbarro of St. Augustine, FL, Della (Brian) Scala of New Castle, PA, Vaughn Hudspath of Cranberry Township, PA, and Star (John) McReynolds of Orlando, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Landon Carothers.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Home in Ellwood City. A service honoring his life and faith will follow immediately, with burial at St. John’s Burry Church Cemetery, 1835 Route 68, Rochester PA.

Mark’s legacy is one of faith, family, and love. While his absence leaves a hole in our hearts, Heaven has gained a faithful servant. Those who knew him take comfort in picturing him rejoicing in God’s presence, singing the hymns he so dearly loved, with a smile that will never fade.
