Mark Inskeep Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 14, 2025.
With love and sadness, we share the passing of Mark Inskeep.

Mark Inskeep, 64, of Marion, Indiana, graduated from Marion High School and lived a life full of laughter, hard work, and love. At just 17, he joined the Marines, proudly serving his country for several years before beginning a journey that took him across the world and eventually back to the Midwest.

Mark was a machinery mechanic by trade, skilled with every tool and machine he touched. But just as much as his work, people knew him for the way he used his truck to help others, whether hauling something heavy or lending a hand when it was needed most. While working in Indianapolis, he met and married Marcia Gray, the mother of his children, beginning one of the most meaningful chapters of his life. As a machine mechanic, father, and friend, Mark's legacy was never just in what he built with his hands, but in the love he shared from his heart.

He loved reading the news and keeping up with politics, landscaping, and traveling. In 2021, he made Florida his home, where he shared with his long-time partner, Kim Smith. He loved the Florida weather and was thrilled to live without snow or cold winters. He was fascinated by the abundance of Florida wildlife all around him. Mark also loved driving, whether it was simply being on the road or in his later years serving as a chauffeur and driver in his neighborhood community, where he enjoyed meeting new people and staying connected. He gave his family and friends the gift of humor, love, and adventure, from braving Hurricane Milton to clear storm drains to prevent his neighborhood from flooding to dancing in every opportune moment while smiling.

Most of all, Mark was a family man. He was the proud father of Mia Inskeep-Nicely (John) and Monica Inskeep and the adoring grandfather of Shiloah Inskeep-Traxler. He held close his brother Kevin Casey (Joyce), sister Robin Warfield (Frank), sister Sparrell Inskeep, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mark was preceded in passing by his parents, Mary Lou Inskeep and William J. Inskeep. He will be remembered for his big heart, his laughter, and the way he lit up every room. His greatest legacy lives on in his daughters, Mia and Monica, and in his grandson, Shiloah, who will always carry his love, laughter, and lessons forward. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
